Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to appear as a guest on many podcasts. (I even used to co-host my own podcast — RIP Spin Rate.) For most of my previous podcast appearances, I was there to discuss the state of the Toronto Blue Jays, back when I was a beat writer.

But last week, I appeared on the Toronto Mike’d Podcast and the conversation centred around, well, myself.

For those who aren’t familiar, Toronto Mike’d is a podcast where the host — you guessed it — Mike interviews interesting people, typically with a Toronto spin. The podcast has nearly 2,000 episodes — I was No. 1920 — so as you can imagine, Mike’s guest roster ranges widely. Media members are frequently invited on, and I have several friends who have appeared on previous episodes.

Needless to say, I was eager to make my Toronto Mike’d debut and was so excited when my invite finally arrived.

You can find the podcast episode here:

As I mentioned, the conversation centres mostly on my life and career, and its weaving path in, out and back in journalism and sports media. I really enjoyed the chat — even if it feels odd to talk about myself, especially since I'm more used to being the one asking questions.

If you listen, I hope you enjoy the chat, too!
